Masala papad sandwich

As I was thinking what to make for breakfast today I had a weird craving of eating masala papad. Maybe you are thinking I am huge fan of masala papad but no trust me I can count on my fingers how many time a year I eat papad. Now you must be thinking I am crazy well maybe yes. But if you have a craving you need to find some solution because I knew if I will suggest eating masala papad for breakfast I will get lot’s of looks from anyone who hears about my breakfast idea.
So I thought of combining masala papad with sandwich and guess what it worked and instead of getting all the looks of who eats masala papad for breakfast I received lots of praises for the recipe and trust me it tastes absolutely delicious. If you are one of those person who likes eating masala papad you are in for a treat and if you are not a masala papad kind of person give this recipe a try you will define change your mind.
It’s a very simple recipe with no fuss and is prepared with readily available ingredients at home but is equally refreshing and satisfying to your taste buds.


  1. One small Finely chopped onion
  2. One small Finely chopped tomato
  3. One small Finely chopped cucumber
  4. Chopped coriander leaves(optional)
  5. One Roasted papad(any variety)
  6. Chat masala
  7. Salt
  8. Nylon sev(optional)
  9. Butter or ghee.

Method of preparation

  1. In a bowl mix together finely chopped cucumber, tomato, onion, coriander.
  2. Add chat masala and salt as per your taste and mix well.
  3. Crush the roasted papad and add it into the mixture and mix well.

4. Apply butter on one side of the bread.

5. Now spread the filling on bread and put        another slice over it and toast it in a      sandwich maker or tawa by applying butter or ghee on both sides.

6. Let the breads get brown crust.


7. Cut it into half and serve hot with tomato sauce or green chutney.
